Different to anything else in town, Peron Peron is an authentic Argentinian grill with an emphasis on the flavours of Buenos Aires and a focus on different cuts and choices of beef. Our forte is aged steaks cooked in front of you on open fires over wood and charcoal.

Peron Peron serves up Argentinian cuisine, with authentic flavours and cooking techniques, but also carefully considers the cuts and style that South Africans enjoy. 60% of the menu focusses on different cuts of beef, 30% on seafood. You’re invited to come and enjoy our signature dishes: charcoal-grilled fillet on the bone, ribeye and picanha. Or why not try our popular whole baby chicken and prawns? Even the accompanying vegetables are cooked over the open fire, delivering a delicious and different taste to anywhere else! No sauces or basting is used on the beef; the dishes are served with salt, chimichurri and a salsa criolla at your table, so you can enjoy the true flavour of the meat and produce.

At Peron Peron, grass-fed beef is responsibly sourced from the KZN Midlands and then dry aged or wet aged in house. Ribeye, sirloin, rump and picanha is aged a minimum of 30 days to ensure maximum flavour.

Be transported to another place with the décor, art, music and food of Peron Peron! Our restaurant design is unique, with amazing wall art and a mix of rustic and classic furnishings that truly brings Buenos Aires alive.

To enhance your meal, the Peron Peron wine list includes 70 carefully selected Argentinian and South African wines, mainly red, with a focus on Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec.

The special lunch menu offers excellent value and a taste of Beunos Aires for R85, which includes a drink.

Owner Hugo Palacio, originally from Argentina, has been in the restaurant business for 30 years in South Africa and in Ballito since 2007. Having operated well-loved restaurants from Italian eateries to coffee shops, this is his most exciting project to date and is very close to his heart as it allows him to bring some of his culture and history to Ballito.

Hugo takes pride in the fact that Peron Peron is a unique, owner-operated offering and not a franchise. He is passionate about this restaurant and its beautiful environment, both inside and out, and confesses that his greatest satisfaction is a happy, returning customer. For him, reputation is priceless.

Hugo’s chefs have been with him for the last 5 years and are well-versed in cooking over the wood and charcoal fire. Hugo and his chefs pride themselves on quality and consistency. All waitrons have been stringently selected for their experience in the hospitality industry and personally trained by Hugo.
